Reports & sharing
Build white-label SEO and AI visibility reports, share read-only links with clients, save them as PDF and email them automatically every week or month.
Reports turn a project's data into one clean, client-ready page: rankings, Google Maps results, AI visibility, backlinks and purchased links, all for the period you choose. You can share it as a read-only link, save it as a PDF, or have it emailed to clients automatically.
It's designed for agencies and freelancers who report to clients, and for anyone who wants to send a progress update to a boss or a team without giving them a login. You'll find it under Project → Reports.
How it works
The report is built live from your project's data every time someone opens it, so it's always up to date. It contains:
- Headline numbers — Avg. position, Top 10 keywords, AI visibility and Backlinks, compared with the start of the period.
- Search rankings — the average position trend, plus your Biggest gains and Biggest drops.
- Google Maps rankings — score, top 10 coverage, average rank and top 3 for each local grid campaign (only if you have one).
- AI visibility — how often each AI engine mentions your brand, and your share of voice against competitors.
- Backlinks & purchased links — live, new and lost backlinks, link health, and purchased links that need attention.
- Upcoming link payments — optional, only when you turn it on (see below).
Choose the period with Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Last 90 days at the top of the page.
White-label branding. In Settings → Branding you can replace serp.ac's look with your own: your agency or brand name, your logo and your accent color. Branding applies to shared report links, PDF exports and scheduled report emails, across all your projects.
Step by step
- Open your project and go to Reports in the sidebar (or use this link).
- Pick the period: Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Last 90 days.
- Optional: turn on Include upcoming payments to add purchased-link payments due in the next 30 days. This only affects the in-app view and the PDF.
- Click Branding (or go to Settings → Branding) and fill in Agency / brand name, Logo URL and Brand color, then click Save branding.
- To save a PDF, click Download PDF. A print-ready page opens with your browser's print dialog; choose "Save as PDF" as the destination.
- To share a live link, choose when it should expire under Expires (In 7 days, In 30 days or Never) and click Create share link. Then click Copy and send the link to your client.
- To email the report automatically, go to Scheduled email, choose a Frequency, enter the Recipients and click Schedule reports.
- Use Send now to send the scheduled email immediately, or Turn off to stop it.
Share links, PDFs and emails
Share links open a read-only report — no login needed. The page isn't indexed by search engines, shows "Link valid until …" (or "Live report" for links that never expire), and has its own Download PDF button so your client can save a copy. A link you create here shows the last 30 days; links in scheduled emails show the email's period. Click Revoke to switch off a link immediately; anyone using it loses access. You can have up to 50 share links per project.
Scheduled emails send a short summary (average position, top 10 keywords, AI visibility, backlinks, purchased links and Maps results) plus a button to a fresh report link that's valid for 30 days.
| Frequency | Report period | Sent |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly | Last 7 days | Every 7 days |
| Monthly | Last 30 days | Every 30 days |
The first email goes out within a few minutes of scheduling, and Last sent shows when the latest one went out. Separate recipient addresses with commas — up to 20 per project.
Payments stay private. Shared and emailed reports never include payment details, even if Include upcoming payments is on.
Language. Shared reports and scheduled emails are written in the language of the account owner (Settings → Account → Language), because the report is the owner's document. The PDF you download yourself uses your own language.
Branding options
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Agency / brand name | Shown in the report header and the email subject. |
| Logo URL | Your logo in the report header. Must be an https:// image link, ideally a transparent PNG or SVG about 200×60 px. |
| Brand color | Accent color for reports and emails, as a hex value such as #2563eb. |
| Hide serp.ac branding | Removes "Powered by serp.ac" from shared reports and emails. Agency plan only. |
The Preview next to the form shows your saved settings. Only the account owner or an admin can change branding.
Tips
- Create a separate share link per client or recipient, so you can revoke one without affecting the others.
- Use Never for a link you put in a client dashboard or wiki, and a 7- or 30-day link for one-off updates.
- Before scheduling emails for a new client, click Send now with your own address in the recipients to check how it looks.
- Upgrade to the Agency plan if you want reports to carry only your brand.
FAQ
Do my clients need a serp.ac account to see a report?
No. Share links and the links in scheduled emails open a read-only report without any login. Clients can't see anything else in your account.
Is the shared report a snapshot or live?
It's live. The data is refreshed every time the link is opened, so a link you shared last month shows current numbers today.
How do I stop a client from seeing a report?
Click Revoke next to the link under Share links. It stops working immediately. Each scheduled email creates its own 30-day link, which expires on its own; those links also appear under Share links, so you can revoke them early too.
Why is my report in a different language than the app?
Shared reports and emails use the account owner's language, so every client sees the same report no matter who on your team created the link. The owner can change it in Settings → Account → Language.
Who can create share links and schedules?
Team members with edit access can create and revoke share links and manage scheduled emails. Viewers can look at the report and download the PDF. Branding can only be changed by the account owner or an admin.
